
Paul Bosworth
Trumpet
Paul is Principal Trumpet with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.
He grew up in Leicestershire and played cornet in the Enderby Brass Band and Trumpet in the Leicestershire Arts Music Service before moving to London to study at Trinity Laban Conservatoire. At Trinity he learnt with Robert Farley and began specialising in Baroque music. After this he went on to study with Mark David, Paul Beniston, Gareth Small and Will O’Sullivan at the Royal Academy of Music.
In 2015 he was a member of the European Union Baroque Orchestra and performed Telemann’s Trumpet Concerto on their European tour.
He has continued to work professionally on both modern and baroque trumpets, working with some of the leading symphony orchestras and baroque ensembles in Europe.
In 2020 he was appointed principal trumpet of Scottish Opera which he held for three years before moving to the BSO.
